Naim Anwar
Mr. Naim Anwar brings with him over 40 years of professional experience, including three decades in the insurance industry where he has held several senior leadership roles across sales, operations, reinsurance, underwriting & claims, risk management, and corporate affairs.
He began his insurance career in sales and rose to become Executive Director at Adamjee Insurance Ltd., followed by his role as Deputy Managing Director at Picic Insurance Ltd. Since 2013, he has been leading Crescent Star Insurance Limited (CSIL) as Managing Director & CEO, driving the company’s growth and strategic transformation.
Mr. Anwar has been an active contributor to the industry’s development, having served on the Executive Committee and various technical committees of the Insurance Association of Pakistan (IAP), including a term as Vice Chairman. He also completed a three-year tenure as Chairman of the Pakistan Insurance Institute (PII).
With an ACCA background, he is a graduate of the Government College of Commerce & Economics, Karachi, and a Certified Director from the Institute of Cost & Management Accountants (ICMA). He has further enhanced his leadership credentials by attending the prestigious INSEAD Business School program in Singapore on ‘Leadership for Results.
Tanveer Ahmed
Mr. Tanveer Ahmed serves as Resident Director at Crescent Star Insurance Limited (CSIL), bringing with him extensive experience in insurance operations, corporate management, and regulatory compliance. Over the years, he has developed strong expertise in underwriting, claims handling, and client relationship management, making him an integral part of CSIL’s leadership team.
As Resident Director, Mr. Ahmed is responsible for overseeing regional operations, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic objectives while maintaining operational efficiency and customer focus. His leadership role also includes active engagement with regulatory authorities, industry bodies, and corporate clients, strengthening CSIL’s reputation in the market.
Mr. Ahmed’s deep understanding of the insurance landscape and his ability to foster long-term stakeholder relationships have contributed to CSIL’s sustained growth and industry credibility
Malik Mehdi Muhammad
Mr. Malik Mehdi Mohammad is the Chief Financial Officer & Company Secretary of Crescent Star Insurance Limited (CSIL). A seasoned finance professional, he is a Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA) from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan and completed his four years of professional training with A.F. Ferguson & Co., a member firm of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).
He has held senior positions across leading financial institutions and insurance companies. As Assistant Vice President, Finance Division at Pakistan Industrial Credit and Investment Corporation Ltd (PICIC), he was responsible for overseeing the preparation of financial statements in full compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. He later joined Adamjee Insurance Ltd., where he headed the Finance Department of its largest division, further strengthening his expertise in insurance finance and corporate reporting.
At CSIL, Mr. Mehdi leads the company’s financial management, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance functions. His dual role enables him to align financial discipline with governance standards, ensuring transparency, accountability, and long-term financial sustainability.
Suhail Elahi
Mr. Suhail Elahi serves as Resident Director and Board Member of Crescent Star Insurance Limited (CSIL). Based at the CSIL Regional Office North in Lahore, he oversees the company’s Northern operations and plays a central role in expanding CSIL’s market presence in the region.
Mr. Elahi brings with him extensive professional experience in Pakistan’s textiles and leather industries, coupled with a strong background in international markets. His diverse business expertise has been instrumental in enhancing CSIL’s operational efficiency and driving growth in key business lines.
Since joining CSIL in 2016, he has been actively contributing to the company’s success by leading the Travel Insurance portfolio, one of CSIL’s most dynamic business segments. In addition, he represents CSIL in companies where the insurer has strategic investment interests, further strengthening the group’s corporate footprint.
